Linga Bhairavi different from most other goddesses

Sadhguru reveals what makes Linga Bhairavi different from most other goddesses we know, and how her raw and fierce energies can give you the ultimate “power-up.”

Questioner: If someone who does not know about Linga Bhairavi comes into a home where there is a Bhairavi Yantra, does it do anything to them?

Bhairavi Is Closer to the Source of Creation

Sadhguru: Even if a buffalo comes to a home with a yantra, it will do something to the buffalo. It may even become a little better buffalo because the energy is on a basic level. Linga Bhairavi is not limited to being human. She is not a human form but much more fundamental. That is why there is a rawness and fierceness about her. If we had wanted to make her into a gentle goddess, we would have created a human form. It is by design that we did not create a human form because we want the energies to be much more basic.

Usually, “basic” is understood as a negative word, but I am using the word “basic” in the sense that it is closer to the source of creation than being human. Of all the creatures, probably the one who is furthest away from the Creator’s creation is the human being. All the other creatures are at least very close to creation, even if they do not know the Creator. Human beings have gone far away from Creator’s creation because they are too caught up in their own creation, which is thought and emotion.

Energies That Work on All Levels

The energies of Bhairavi are not just on the level of being human. They are much more fundamental. If you keep objects around her, even their quality will change. This will happen in the presence of Bhairavi and also in the presence of various other forms if they are energetically active. This is why what is referred to as teerth [1] and prasad[2] is so important. Just being in the vicinity of a consecrated form highly energizes food, other substances, and particularly water.

If you keep water next to Bhairavi for just ten minutes, the molecular structure of the water will change quite dramatically. You may see people in India struggle to get even just a spoon of water from a temple because this water has the memory of the Divine. You want the memory of the Divine to enter you so that the Creator within you becomes active. Then you are not just a body and mind; you are not crawling like a worm on this planet. Something more powers you up. Because for anyone to be successful in whatever they are doing, success will not come without grace.

Unfortunately, your mind has been trained to always want to be better than someone else. If you want to be number one in the world, it simply means you enjoy everyone else’s failure. This has to change. When we enjoy other people’s failures, you cannot call that wellbeing; it is a kind of sickness.

No Success Without Grace

One way or the other, you have to learn to be receptive to grace. Just your mental state may make you receptive; the way you keep your body may make you receptive; the way you keep your emotions may make you receptive. Or you have more complex methods, and you understand the mechanics of how to become receptive. Without grace, there will be no success. You may be immensely capable, but still you will be a failure.

You will see this in the world – people are all over the place, but a moment of grace, and suddenly they become successful. You can be peaceful and happy from within if you know how to keep your body and mind. But finding access to the world and being successful in what you are doing will not happen without grace. Without the lubricant of grace, your machine will not go too far. Everything in your life will be an uphill task.

Most human beings do this to themselves because they are so full of themselves. They will not become available to grace. Everything in their life – education, work, marriage, raising children – is hard work.

Even if you drive the finest car, without the engine oil, within 10 minutes, it will start making ugly noises, and in 25 minutes, it will stop. Everything is fine, but the only thing missing is lubrication. That is grace. If there is no grace, there is no lubrication in your life. To do simple things, you will make ugly noises.

The whole process of creating these energy forms is to make you available to grace in the strongest possible way. Once you are a well lubricated being, everything will be effortless.
